A Legacy of Sweetness
The company dates back to 1903, but its popularity really started in the 1960s. In 1962, Pete Daffin created a solid chocolate rabbit that was sold during Easter and became an instant hit. It was so successful, they moved operations to Sharon and created a brand-new factory to keep up with demand. It was at this new flagship store that Pete also created their now famous Chocolate Kingdom.

The Chocolate Kingdom Experience
The highlight of Daffin’s is the Chocolate Kingdom. In the center of the store sits a gazabo with massive, oversized chocolate sculptures. A chocolate tree is surrounded by animals made of chocolate!

The display features a 125-pound reindeer and turtle, a 75-pound frog, and a fire-breathing dragon. During Easter, the display also features things such as chocolate bunnies and carrots. Although this display is impressive, this is actually just the beginning.

In the back right corner of the store is a hall that leads to an even grander chocolate kingdom. This display features a chocolate train, castle, elephants and so much more! Surrounded by beautiful murals, this area also includes awards and news articles about Daffin’s Candies.

One of the fascinating things I found here was a cabinet displaying the chocolate-making process. Samples of cocoa powder and chocolate are on display along with the steps of turning the Cacao pod into powder.

Tasty Treats for Every Taste
The shop offers a wide variety of treats, from classic milk and dark chocolate bars to signature creations like Caramel Pecanettes, Melt-A-Ways, and Cordial Cherries. Visitors can also find unique seasonal items, ensuring that there’s always something new and exciting to try.

The most popular time to visit the store is during the Easter season. Daffin’s still produces its iconic solid chocolate rabbit in multiple sizes and varieties. Chocolate eggs filled with peanut butter, maple, caramel, and more are also a very popular seller.

Outside of chocolate, the store also has a wall of candy to pick and choose from. Bagged gummy favorites and nostalgic candy line the shelves as you wander the store. Cases filled with fudge and t-shirts with your favorite candy can also be purchased.

If candy wasn’t enough, Daffin’s also offers an impressive selection of Hallmark goods, cards, and household items for sale. Whether you’re searching for a thoughtful greeting card, a unique home décor piece, or a special gift for a loved one, you’ll find something perfect in their carefully curated collection.

In the name of “research” for this article, I indulged in their chocolate covered pretzels, Happy Houligan, and Peanut Butter Filled Bar. Each product has smooth and fresh chocolate. The peanut butter is silky smooth and tastes amazing. This may easily be the best chocolate that I have tried.

Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a local or a visitor passing through the area, Daffin’s Chocolate Kingdom is a must-visit for anyone who loves chocolate or is seeking a fun, family-friendly activity, or a sweet treat. Daffin’s is the perfect experience that will be sure to leave you smiling and craving more!
