Twisting through History
Sturgis Pretzels is America’s first pretzel-baking family. The company was started in 1861 by Julius Sturgis in Lititz, Pa. In 1946, Marriott Sturgis, Julius’s grandson, opened Tom Sturgis Pretzels in Reading, Pa. They have been located at its current factory since 1970.
A Flavor for Everyone
When visiting the Pretzel Store, you’re surrounded by pretzels of every flavor and size. Vintage buckets line the walls of the store. Stepping into the shop feels like you have just stepped foot into a quaint country cottage.
Visitors are also encouraged to try pretzels for themselves! Near the counter sits a carousel of pretzel flavors. Be sure to use the gloves and tongs provided when sampling the pretzels.
